Are these components good for a budget gaming rig?
Budget = less than $900, always looking to cut price.
All prices I found from Newegg.com
Win7 64-bit - $105
Sunbeam 680W Modular PSU - $90
Phenom II X4 3.2Ghz - $160
Sapphire RadeonHD 5770 1GB - $160
Antec 300 Case - $70
G.Skill 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 - $105
WD 250GB 7200rpm HDD - $48
Asus M4A79XTD AM3 790X AMD mobo - $120
Asus CD/DVD Burner - $28
Total = $867
Could use a few other opinions before I make my final decision.
That's a nice set of compatible componets to game with now, and with room to grow.
I recommend a similar build, with a 3.0 GHz Phenom II x2, but a motherboard that can support SATA 6.0 Gb/s for future expansion. (I hate replacing motherboards if I don't have to.) Comes in at $818, including keyboard & mouse.
