Will my Centrino Duo processor work for a game that needs 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor?
Will my Centrino Duo processor work for a game that needs 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor? And is a NVIDIA GeForce 9400 video card good enough for most PC games? Is it easy to change out Video Cards in a laptop? Thank-you for any help.
Probably. Look up the processing speed of your computer by right clicking on the "my computer" icon and selecting "properties". It will tell you the processing speed of both cores, which is usually the same. For instance, both of my cores are 2GHz, which means I have 4GHz. Also, the resource management of dual cores is more advanced than a single core, which means that you can push a little bit more out of them than a single core. I don't recommend it though.
Your video card should be enough to play a game that only requires 3 Ghz, but you need to look at the requirements posted on the game's box to be sure.
It is not easy to change out video cards in a laptop. Laptops are very touchy with their power consumption and easy to overheat. If you install something too powerful, you can overheat your laptop very easily. Plus, many compact laptops don't have the space for the high-end graphics cards, which is why they are installed in larger laptops.
