How do I drive out a VERY tight pin?
I'm trying to drive out a pin (in the worm gear assembly of my KitchenAid mixer) with a pin punch but the pin won't budge! It is so tight that all my poundings are flattening my punch, but the pin won't even budge!

Using the basic principle that metal contracts if its cold and expands if its hot...maybe you could try putting it in the freezer for awhile, and then see if you can remove it. Or perhaps even heating the pin first somehow (by placing it in some boiling water?), so that it expands the hole a lil bit and then transfer it from the hot water, directly into a bucket of reeeally cold ice water* (hint: sprinkle salt on top of the ice to make it even colder), to where the metal pin will contract just enough to break itself lose so you can get it out. -good luck! hope this helped!
