Food Processor burnt out already?
I just bought a Cuisinart DLC-2011 earlier today. About 30 seconds into griding nuts (shells off, yes:), the base started smoking, and it just died. Is there anything I can do about this? Or just take it back?
Thanks so much- both of you. It started again about ten minutes later. I actually had more than enough in there- maybe too many. I'll give it another try and be a bit more conservative about it. Thanks:)
Sometimes a cuisi will stop on it's own when it gets too hot, but I've seen that happen mainly with the older models. Even if it does re-start after a cooldown, there's no guarantee there's not a short in there somewhere. I'd take it back and have it replaced. And next time, pulse your nuts; no reason to put them on straight grind unless you're making almond paste or other nut paste for something. As well, make sure the resevoir has adequate nuts in it to actually process.
