Is a food processor with a shredding blade much better than one without?

I am considering two food processors, listed below. The main difference appears to be the fact that one has a shredding blade capability. I am new to food processing, and I don't know if this is an important feature. Is it important? I hope to make Indian food purees, soups, hummus, salsa, and other items.

I realize Cuisinart is a good brand
if I were you I would wait till after Christmas there will be many on sale
