How do you measure you car amp ?

Ok im doing some research and need help calculating my alpine amp. I dont know the equation or know how many amps would a 500 watts amp at 2ohms would need to power on ? Idk if is Power by Watts ? Making that 42 amps ? Or how many fuses you have and doubling it ? So 2 30A fuses would be 60 amps minimum to power it ?

It's not that specific.

a 500w amp is going to need 8 gauge power wire min. Fuse near the battery of 50A. That will run it fine.
